The "Miller Lite Virtual Racing league" is Flash 5 strategy game we developed at Red Sky Interactive to support the Miller Lite NASCAR sponsorship.
Simulating the strategic nature of NASCAR, The Miller Lite Virtual Racing League, was an interactive experience that allowed consumers to become a virtual owner of a NASCAR racing team. Players could redeem codes for VRL 'money' which they then use to build and maintain their team: hiring Crew Chiefs and Drivers, setting-up and customizing their car and finally practicing, qualifying and entering into weekly races (every Sunday) which mirrored the NASCAR season.
The MillerLite VRL was recognized with a silver award by the prestigious ID Online Awards, which honor outstanding multimedia and interface design. The Miller Lite VRL, which had more than 229,000 registered players in its second season, also was recognized with two awards -- Best In Show across all new media categories and a Gold Award in the "New Media Alcoholic Drink category" -- at the International Food and Beverage Awards, held in February 2002. Additionally, the VRL was honored with an "Award of Distinction" from the Communicator Awards.
